When you hear the term spiritually-driven business, what do you think of?
God? Fluff? Woo-woo?
Probably. And that’s ok.
But it’s not accurate.
Spirituality in business isn’t about labels or fluff. It’s about the choices you make every day and how they ripple out to others. It’s about intention. Alignment. Resonance and magnetism – the energetics of it.
The question is: are you leading with intention, or are you just hoping it happens on its own?
Do you ever find yourself in flow state with work where everything feels present and aligned? Deeply meaningful or fulfilling? And when you do, how long are you able to embody that for?
Here’s what spirituality in business means to me:
A business that aligns with your purpose & values. A role that, most days, makes you happy you decided to take it on.
A focus on servant leadership and providing a service that matters to your clients.
A schedule where at least 40% (ideally more) of your day is comprised of activities/tasks that GIVE you energy. With some neutral tasks. And 20% or less energy sucking tasks.
Calm, curious, clear-headed decision-making that isn’t delayed.
An emotionally intelligent style of leadership that blends vision, strategy, coach-approach and, when appropriate – some commanding, direct leadership.
Celebrating small wins; not just the big ones (for more than 5 seconds too….).
Reflection and gratitude, grounded in growth and impact.
Trust. Authenticity. Connection. And how you bring these qualities more intentionally.
Combining the law of attraction with the law of receptivity (removing blocks / limiting beliefs).
Before you say, “Oh yeah, I know that...I do that”, really ask yourself how INTENTIONAL are you actually being with these things. If I followed you for a week, what evidence would I see of it?
For instance, do you plan your schedule and day around your purpose and most important values? Do you bring a coach-approach to how you lead and during the tougher conversations (work & home)?
When your business is aligned with your purpose & values, fueled by energy-giving work, and grounded in authentic leadership, success stops being just about profit… it becomes about fulfillment, freedom, and impact. That’s what spiritually-driven business really looks like.
And the money follows downstream as a side effect.
"Success is not the result of making money; making money is the result of success—and success is in direct proportion to our service." – Earl Nightingale
